Polish poster from after WWII period till nowadays and it’s changing role in the communist society.

Polish Poster school created some really astonishing pieces of work that are recognized worldwide and have almost cult status. Term “Polish school of poster” is well known to everyone who is interested in history of visual communication. Masters of this school developed their unique visual language that was an inspiration for many generations of graphic designers and probably will be an inspiration for next generations, not only in my country but also worldwide.

It happens that I personally know one of great poster artists so I can try to make an interview with him. One of my art teachers also happens to be student of one of master of Polish Poster school so I hope to get some interesting stories from him.

I already rented all books related to my topic from LCC library.
Since I decided to write on this topic some time ago (term 3 ;) I do have few hundred words proposal that I plan to finish during these 2 weeks.

  1. It'll be a good report if you can get those interviews. Maybe you could also try and talk to Andrzej Klimowski http://www.rca.ac.uk/Default.aspx?ContentID=503208 - he might be able to offer some interesting insights into Polish posters
