I'm thinking about doing my report on whether online magazines are the solution to the environmental impact of the magazine industry and therefore the pros and cons of printed and online versions.
I could research this by doing case studies of magazines who have made the shift from printed to online (e.g. Amelia's magazine) and magazines which claim to be environmentally conscious (Sublime). I'm sure there are loads more out there too. I'm going to see if there are any events/lectures on environmental graphic design and I could talk to designer Caroline Clark from Lovely as a Tree about her thoughts on the topic. I could also look for articles/journals/books/websites on the environmental impacts of design, the printing industry and the appeal of printed magazines.
